Before you buy

Liver is very high in preformed vitamin A, which builds up in the body and can harm a developing baby at high intakes. The upper limit for preformed vitamin A is 3,000 micrograms a day for adults. If you have haemochromatosis or another iron-overload condition, the high heme iron is a problem, not a benefit. Both are animal products in a bovine gelatine capsule, so neither suits vegans or vegetarians. None of this replaces a doctor, so if you have a diagnosed deficiency, get it managed properly.
